baking oven Significant Article

Pros:
1. Improved mounting clip: Most cheap thermometers fall off the rack with the slightes nudge and whenever I slide the rack in or out. This one clips on more securely.
2. Better positioning: It can sit securely atop a rack, tilted back for easier viewing.
Cons:
1. Hard to read: Big dial but small numbers.
2. Expensive: Double to triple the price of the economy models.
3. Not fully oven-proof: The advertising boasts a temperature range up to 600 degrees, but a prominent “WARNING” on the package recommends “removing the thermometer” if the oven is used above 440 degrees to avoid cosmetic damage.
4. No metric scale: Fahrenheit only.
Other comments:
1. Speed: In an oven pre-heated until another thermometer read 425 degrees, this one took about 12 minutes to go from room temperature to a stable reading of 425.
2. Accuracy: I don’t know how accurate it is, but at least it’s consistent with my old thermometer. After it reached 425 degrees, this model’s reading matched the 425-degree reading on the old thermometer almost exactly.
Here's your first money-saving tip: used commercial equipment will more than satisfy your needs. Commercial equipment tends to have a long operating life when it's taken care of properly.
The following equipment list will be especially helpful if you're operating on a shoestring budget. It will also be useful if you are uncertain about operating this type of business and want to test the waters.
Ovens - The health department has no requirements concerning the size, type, or make of oven used in your business. You can use the same type of conventional stove that you have in your personal kitchen if it bakes properly and produces the results you need. But you should be aware that conventional ovens limit the quantity you can bake at one time and the speed of baking.
To increase production and keep up with demand, you'll need a commercial oven, preferably convection. Convection ovens bake fast and efficiently. Before purchasing a commercial electric oven, inquire about wiring and outlets needed for operation. Before purchasing any type of gas oven, make sure you have enough space for a hood fan and proper ventilation.
Mixers - If you have budget concerns, a home-style stand mixer will work perfectly to get you started. I recommend KitchenAid mixers. If you have product demand and the budget, baking oven definitely invest in a commercial mixer. A used twelve or twenty-quart commercial mixer will get you off to a great start.
Refrigerators/Coolers - Are you watching the budget? If so, here's another tip that will save you many dollars. Home-style refrigerators will work perfectly for your start-up and established business. Commercial refrigerators (referred to as coolers) can be expensive, even the used ones. So consider carefully the amount of space you have, the amount of product to be chilled, and your budget for refrigeration. Before purchasing a commercial cooler, inquire about the necessary electrical wiring and outlets needed for operation.
Proofing Cabinets - If you're making large quantities of yeast breads, you will benefit from having a proofing cabinet. This cabinet maintains a warm temperature that's perfect for the stage of bread making when the dough needs to rise and double in bulk.
Work Sinks - A stainless-steel compartment sink is usually a requirement of the health department. Even if this type of sink is not required, you should consider buying one. The convenience and ease of washing large sheet pans, large mixing bowls, and other oversized pieces make it well worth the cost.
Work Tables - The health department usually requires a certain kind of work surface for food preparation and protection. Stainless-steel tables are the most popular because they can be easily cleaned and do not absorb germs and other contaminants. There may be other tabletop surfaces that meet approval. Ask your health department for more information. The size table you buy should be determined by available space and the task to be performed. Rolling Pan Racks (Shelves) These heavy-duty metal racks are made to hold both half- and full-size sheet pans. They vary in height and the number of pans they hold. They are excellent space savers. Use them for cookies and cakes (before and after baking), ingredients, supplies, and more. One of the great convenience features is mobility. They can be moved to wherever you're working. A pan rack is not required by the health department, but it should be near the top of your list of necessities. Used racks will work perfectly.
Storage Shelves - You'll need lots of storage space for dry ingredients, packaging supplies, and other items. It's always a great idea to make the most of your work space from floor to ceiling.
Hand Sink - A hand sink is generally a small sink used to wash your hands before and during work. This sink is usually required by the health department. You can save on cost by purchasing a fiberglass sink (called a utility sink) at most building supply stores.
Ingredient Bins - It's not necessary to buy commercial storage bins for items like flour and sugar. Just go to a building supply store and purchase large thirty-two-gallon trash cans with lids. They must be new, of course. These cans will store a fifty-pound bag of flour or sugar and more. Do not empty the product directly into the trash can. Instead, drop the unopened bag into the can, and then open the top of the bag and dip out the product as needed.
More Tips: Before purchasing any large equipment, measure all doorways that the equipment has to pass through before it can be placed in the work area.
Always ask for a warranty. Most companies offer at least a thirty-day warranty on used equipment.

I bought this set for our toaster oven. I reviewed the size before I ordered it. When I got it it turned out to be very, very tiny. It appeared as if we could only fit 1 piece of bread or 1 piece of chicken on this and that’s it. It may good for a family of 1, but not for a family of 3. I returned it.
how many “non-stick’ items have I purchased through the years that have mercilessly burnt!!! both food and bake ware. This is, by far, the nicest I have ever used; nothing sticks!! It cleans easily and quickly; hopefully, this miraculous feat will continue!!! rose
I expected the items to fit and be usable in my Oster 6058 Toaster Oven. All of the items were too small. Why would they advertise these pieces for the Oster 6058 and not fit properly. My wife and I were Extremely disappointed!!
You know what happens to the toaster oven pan with use…YUCK! Nordic Ware’s toaster oven 3-piece baking set is the answer to that. The finish cleans up and that yuck of burned margarine or butter just won’t stick. The rack cleans up well, too. I put mine in the dishwasher and so far, so good.
The price is very economical so replacement won’t hurt your pocketbook. I don’t think the recycle bin will see my set any time soon. This is a fantastic product.
Thank you Amazon.com for giving me access to this product. I’ve looked for this type of pan for a number of years.
this set of non-stick toaster oven pans are very nice but are much smaller than I expected
I have toasted, english muffins , thick-cut fruit nut loaf, buns; made fries, chicken strips, stuffed mushrooms, pizza, omelets (in shallow glass dish) & salmon filets. Brussel sprouts and butternut squash next…
I am enjoying this appliance very much. It is easy to clean and more versatile than anything else that i looked at. My toaster is now in the cupboard and I don’t miss it. I thought that this would be used now and then as others have written, but I have yet to put it away. It does use a lot of counter space but I find it to be worth while.
It creates a convection without the noisy fan. Anything too thick to cook in here, I would probably grill or bake anyways. Just about everything I put in it tastes better than from a microwave. Great design and solidly made. I snatched it up at a great price of $69.99 including free shipping.
This is a nice little oven. It combines utility and perfection in a small size. It has a nice small footprint so it does not take up much room. For such a little thing, it is a real dynamo!
We use it in a staff breakroom. It gets a lot of wear and tear. It is holding up very well.
We have been making all sorts of things in it. Pizzas come out very well. We have even baked a pre-cooked ham in it. Every thing comes out very well, perfectly cooked and delectable!
The clean up is pretty easily done. All in all, we like it a lot!
This fun little unit is a counter-top convection oven that is designed for baking pizzas, hors d’oeuvres, and other small foods. It has a relatively small footprint (meaning no pizza larger than 12 inches) and even when opened it fits comfortably on the counter-top beneath the cupboards. It’s black and silver finish gives it an attractive look that means that you won’t mind leaving it on the counter all the time.
You place the food on a revolving baking tray, and it cooks it in a quick and even manner, making it an excellent alternative to the microwave oven. I have an electric oven in the kitchen, which seems to take hours to warm up. This oven, on the other hand, begins cooking almost immediately, which means that it is more economical for small projects.
My family and I have found this to be a great new way to cook pizzas and mozzarella sticks and other snacks. We have had no problems with it so far, and look forward to using it for a long time to come. We all highly recommend this oven to you and your family.
I wasn’t quite sure what to think of this item, as it wasn’t a traditional toaster oven, but it also wasn’t a George Foreman like grill either.
What I made with it came out pretty well, cooking frozen chicken breasts while keeping them juicy (unlike the George Foreman grill). I think this would be very useful if you’re into making a lot of snacks, like pizza and chicken nuggets, but like all small appliances, its usefulness is limited by the room it takes up when you’re not using it, the need to clean it after use, and the hassle of setting it up in order to use it.
I would gladly pay $75 for such an item, but the going price of almost $150 is too much for what it does.
I talked my wife into buying one of these when our toaster oven failed. It turns out that this is not a toaster oven or anything close in my opinion. It is great for certain foods that benefit from sitting on a solid hot surface, but not that great for food you want to “toast”, that is, expose to a burner directly from both sides, like a toaster.
I tried “toasting” bread with it and it really didn’t work so well.
The deal breaker for us was the accessability factor. Our oldest son is just learning to use appliances. He can open a toaster oven door, put something on the grill, close the door, and press the on button safely, and then remove his food after the oven goes off. But that requires front access, and this is a top access device.
Furthermore, when you open the top it’s just one huge hot surface, and even I as an adult would need to be very careful and use a spatula to get stuff off the surface. Then there’s the exposed hot element in the upper lid that you have open while you’re carfully getting your food off the hot surface of this oven.
So, as far a teaching our kids the basics of running appliances, this one is a non-starter and we sent it back.
Pity though. I rather liked it myself, and I wish we had the counter space and a genuine need to keep it.
This item arrived very well packed to ensure it wouldn’t break in shipping. I was impressed! I originally bought this for my toaster oven, but used it in the large oven after realizing my artisan bread would likely rise too much in the smaller oven. This stone performed as expected. Great buy, easy to store due to its size. It will allow for a small pizza (for two). Get a larger size for a larger pizza. This is perfect for just about every loaf of bread you may bake.
Well, do I order it again? Sure would like this small size for my artisan bread, but it has arrived broken two times. It is packed with bubble wrap on one side and not the other. This is shipped from Amazon, and should be wrapped better. Disappointed!
Yes, this is a nice pizza stone, fits great in my toaster oven, does the job. I have never had one of these before, so I don’t know how to compare it with others. No complaints!
