I had a toaster oven that was pretty close to the same size, so there was no problem replacing this convection oven on the counter … even though there’s not a lot of counter space. The convenience of having one this size makes it worth it. The toast setting took some adjustment, though. Cooking for two is one reason I wanted this model. We had a regular convection oven in our home before we moved, which I always liked using. Our new place had only a regular oven & microwave. If you have never tried a small C-oven before, try this model … if not for the cost alone. It’s well worth it. Actually, I don’t let anything [or appliance] go to waste, so I passed my old toaster oven on to my sister. Sharing is a good thing ; )

If you are trying to find out Used Commercial Pizza Ovens for your business setup, the following questions should be part and parcel of your research about the subject:

Should you buy a brick oven or a conveyor oven?
Are gas ranges better than electrical ranges when it comes to baking pizza?
How about heated drawers? Would that truly serve your business' purpose?

As you may know, the oven is the center of operation for any commercial pizza store. That means : you need to invest a large amount of cash on one or more ovens to keep your business running. However, the most expensive oven isn't customarily the most cost-efficient solution ; and neither is the biggest sized model.

Here is a helpful check list of two important pizza oven questions you should ask yourself before puchase any new or used pizza oven::

1. What do you plan to sell?

Pizza would be an obvious answer, but what sized pizza would that be? Obviously, you would need a larger oven if your menu includes selling 16" (or larger) pies round the clock.

At the same time, if you are planning on selling other dishes apart from pies, you may want to set your sights away from conveyor style commercial ovens. These ovens are superb for huge bulk orders of pizzas.

Some models are specially designed to cook the pies about 1 in each five mins for optimum production. But these conveyor ovens may not serve you well if you are planning on serving other baked goodies like pasta, meat dishes, vegetable dishes and pastries.

2. How much space are you willing to dedicate to the oven in your kitchen?

Space is a genuine issue here. For one thing, this piece of cooking equipment is going to be in a nearly steady scorching temperature during the entire operational day. In very confined spaces, this could translate to a safety danger. You may want to take careful account of your available floor space, the approximate radiated heat potential ( at the front and back of the oven,) and the space relative the remainder of the counters, gadgetry and cooking equipment you have.

I hope these tips will help you buy the best new or used commercial pizza oven for your business!

  1. This oven is used on a daily basis. It has held up great and the price was awsome

  2. This looks damn good but a bit heavy and using quite some space.
I’m about to move from europe to the caribbean and I looking for a good 110v pizza oven.
does this one have a top stone element also ?
I think I might just go for the new Ferrari oven, anyone knows where to get it in the Us?
It’s selling very well on the euro market.

  3. At this price, there are some very good pizza ovens indeed. This isn’t one of them; avoid!

  4. My old pizza oven recently died and I needed a replacement. The door on this Cuisinart is attached and swings down, then you have to slide out the grate with a spatula or anything else you can find to avoid burning your hands.

I much prefer the door / grate combination, where you can just grasp the handle, pull out the door, and slide the pizza onto a waiting pan.

It’s a little smaller and lighter than my old one, but I’m finding I’m using my oven instead – larger space, less likely to burn myself.

Also, the instructions to preheat 30 minutes before using – not going to happen ever.

For a gourmet / fresh pizza cook it’s probably a good fit. For a frozen pizza lover, keep looking.

  5. Cuisinart Pizza Oven is great. Follow directions and you get great results. No shortcuts allowed.
We just finished using it and the pizza was great – baked to perfection!

  6. Ellsworth says:

This has never been a great “toaster”. It’s fine for baking pizza, burritos, etc when you’re cooking for one or two. It does not toast bread evenly. Just after the warranty expired, the keep warm function sounded like wiring was shorting out, so stopped using it. Then a few weeks later, smelled burnt wiring. Now it’s a fire hazard. Should have kept my old toaster that was still working fine after 10 years.

  7. I bought this from Sears to replace my dirty ugly (but functional) old Kenmore toaster oven. I am pretty happy with it, but there are a few things about it that are not perfect.

I think this toaster oven is the same as many others out there. If you are shopping for toaster ovens, you will see that there are lots of different models and brands offering pretty much the same configuration of controls and features as this one. I suspect that they are all made in the same factory and just have different body styles and name brands slapped on to them.

Anyway, here are some of the features that I like about it:
    - It has a “Stay On” setting, so if I am baking something that will take more than 60 minutes I don’t have to keep turning up the timer to keep the oven on.
    - It offers different cooking combinations of top heat, bottom heat, both, convection on and off.
    - It has a bulge in the back (“pizza bump”) so that I can put a 12 inch diameter pizza pan in it (one was in the box, but I prefer a pizza screen). Not counting the bulge, the interior is about 9″ x 12″. It is 4.75 inches from the rack in lowest position to the top heating elements.
    - It came with a second rack so I can heat things on two racks at the same time if I want to.
    - The stainless steel body means that I can scrub the body without having to worry about removing color (and it looks good)

A few flaws that made me contemplate returning it:
    - The outside gets hotter than my older (Kenmore) toaster oven. I put a grill thermometer on the top, when baking at full temp, the top surface reaches 220, about 20 degrees warmer than my old Kenmore. I looked and there appears to be an air gap between the roof of the oven and the outside top surface, but I could not tell if there is any insulation in there. But that means it gets the kitchen hotter, and it provides a hotter warming shelf (plates now get too hot if left too long). [I have moved my ugly old toaster oven out to my patio, and if it is too hot to bake inside, I will bake out there instead.]
    - The temperature dial goes down to 150 degrees, but when I have tested it with various cooking modes, the actual oven temperature didn’t go lower than 200 in one cooking mode, and 180 in another one. I had been hoping to use this for things like slow roasting and food drying, but that is too hot.
    - At the corners of the glass door, there are little cushions that probably protect the glass door from shock, but they also prevent the glass door from closing the whole way, so there is a gap of about 2.5mm to let the heat out (using more electricity and making the kitchen hotter). I haven’t decided if this is a feature (perhaps it was felt that some air flow was needed) or a bug.
    - If you pull the rack out more than one inch, the back is no longer supported so the back of the rack falls down, and what you are baking slides down to the back. This is a real design flaw, but I have just gotten used to the annoyance and hardly pull the rack out now.

However, in spite of these flaws, I find that I am really happy with the purchase and have enjoyed using its many functions.

Also, note that the ridiculously huge dimensions given in the Amazon listing (at the time of this writing) are the size of the box, not the toaster oven itself. The toaster oven is 17.75 wide x 10.25 tall x 13.5 deep, not counting little bumpers which stick out of the side and back about a half inch to prevent it being pushed too close to walls.

  8. We use this toaster oven instead of our kitchen oven for almost everything. Cooks perfectly and is easy to keep clean. I recommend it to everyone

  10. I bought this toaster/oven for its versatility. It toasts several slices of bread at one time and if you keep it at the lighter setting, it comes out great! Looking forward for using it for pizza but haven’t had the occasion. It is also very attractive with my stainless appliances.

  11. We’ve had this snack oven for about 3 months…..we only make frozen pizza in it (so far), but it is superior for that. I gave one to a friend who says the same as me—best frozen pizza maker…I don’t think a homemade deep dish will work in here because the pan has no big lip. I’ve taken various DiGiorno frozen pizzas and added my own chopped peppers , mushrooms onions, etc. Don’t add too high ’cause they will burn. Friends didn’t even know it was a frozen pizza—thought it was scratch pizza.

  12. Gesselman says:

Easy to use, no clean up. Perfect pizza in 12 minutes. Got it for summer use to keep the kitchen cooler, now a mainstay. We’ve made over 100 pizza and it’s still going strong. Great “bang for the buck” and watching it work also amazes your friends, always a plus.

  13. This turned out to be a piece of junk. It cooked adequately, not well; each kind of snack had to be tinkered with to get the right cooking time to get it cooked but not burned — the instruction book was of little help. After using it 5-10 times, it just wouldn’t. I plugged it in, set the time, and it just did nothing. There was no warning it was about to quit working. Avoid this product.

  14. We just bought this this week, so I can’t comment on longevity, but seems to work well for us. Toasts well and bakes well, but haven’t tried broiler. I can fit 6 slices of bread. Overall size is great for a small kitchen! It gets hot on the top and back, but the sides are able to be touched breifly without burning yourself after baking. The front only gets warm (except the door, of course). It isn’t anything fancy, but if you just need something to make good toast and reheat pizza and left overs or make a few chicken nuggets for the kids, it great! Happy so far.

  15. Hooray!! Now I can have my toast in the morning without having to keep turning the bread. My wife is also pleased about the timing for baking. Also the even cooking. We are quite pleased with our unit.

  16. Hey this pizza oven is goood, works perfectly fine. wonderful for the price . I got this for my mom and she loves it.

  17. We had the Black & Decker pizza oven at work and it was a work horse for about 2 yrs, it finally hit the skids. The new Proctor-Silex oven seems simpler and a little more heavy duty. We buy 12.5 inch frozen pies from the local pizza shop and they cook very nicely. Can also be used as a toaster oven!!

  18. I live off of Totinos Pizza and I got tired of cranking up my huge stove just to bake a pizza for ten minutes.((total waste of electricity)) This oven has become the heart of my kitchen because I’ve used it for all kinds of random items aside from heating left overs. I haven’t burned anything yet and I love this oven.

  19. My friend brought over one of these and the epicurean peel Epicurean Cutting Surfaces 23-by-14-Inch Pizza Peel, Natural to make pizza for us and I noticed right away how much heavier this stone was than the two I had.

I would like one slightly larger, but I think I have a pretty big oven, so I understand having more commons size available.

With the less massive stones, I had to precook my crust for a few minutes before putting toppings on. With this one, I prep my pizza on parchment, Put it on the peel (after toppings so it doesn’t stick to the peel) slip it on the stone (heated to 550 deg for 30 minutes minimum). take out the parchment after 2-4 min and cook the pizza for the remaining 6 to 4 min (8 min total) and boom. great fresh pizza.

I use trader joes herb dough usually because I am pretty lazy :)
